DeNOx Environment’s plate type SCR catalyst is our original product and has been widely used in more than 400 installations since 2010. Mainly used in thermal power plants, but also steel plants and other applications.
The plate type SCR catalyst consists of steel plates that have been coated with the active vanadium-tungsten-titanium oxide catalyst system. This type of catalyst has a high erosion resistance and is very suitable for high-dust environments up to around 150 g/Nm3. Other key advantages are low clogging tendency, low pressure drop and low SO2 oxidation properties. Plate type catalysts are also easy to regenerate which ensures the maximal lifetime.
The plate type SCR catalyst is widely used in thousands of SCR installations worldwide and is commonly acknowledged as the best choice for high dust SCR installations on coal and biomass fired power plants, as well as in steel and cement plants.
The suitable temperature window is typically 280-420⁰C. Plate type catalysts are usually supplied in modules of approximately 1 m x 2 m, 1 m x 1.5 m or 1.5 x 2.0 m sizes.
DeNOx Environment’s extruded honeycomb SCR catalysts are universal and cost-effective products which can be used in most industries. A relatively simple production process ensures that costs are low, and the product can easily be made in many different lengths and with different number of cells.
DeNOx Environment offers 15 different number of cells, ranging from 13 x 13 cells (CPSI = 5, pitch = 11.4 mm, surface area = 300 m2/m3) to 70 x 70 cells (CPSI = 140, pitch = 2.1 mm, surface area = 1520 m2/m3), and with wall thickness ranging from 0.3 mm to 1.3 mm.
The extruded SCR catalyst has a good mechanical strength and can also be regenerated for maximal lifetime.
The operating window is very wide, from 160 to 540⁰C.
DeNOx Environment started the production of extruded honeycomb SCR catalysts in 2019 and has since then delivered this product to several hundred installations in various industries: Thermal power (biomass/oil/gas fired), stationary and marine engines, glass plants, cement plants, waste to energy and chemical industries.
Corrugated SCR catalysts from DeNOx Environment uses a glass fiber carrier impregnated with the active materials V2O5-WO3-TiO2. Advantages are low weight, low pressure drop, high activity per volume and low SO2 oxidation rates.
Corrugated SCR catalysts are in particular suitable for gas and oil-fired applications where the corrugated catalysts often lasts more than 10 years. The corrugated catalyst is also a popular choice for marine and offshore platforms due to its low weight.
The operating window for the standard product is 150-420⁰C, while special formulas can make the catalyst useful up to around 540⁰C.
Some applications such as gas turbines or engines may operate at temperatures well above 400⁰C. This is a challenge for the traditional V/W/Ti-based SCR catalysts which will start to sinter and lose activity when temperatures are approaching 500⁰C. DeNOx Environment have therefore developed a Fe-based zeolite SCR catalyst. The optimum temperature window of the Fe-zeolite SCR catalyst is 420-600⁰C, where NOx conversion rates >90% can be achieved.
The Fe-zeolite SCR catalyst can be based on both cordierite or glass fiber substrates and made in a variety of dimensions similar to most commercially available extruded or corrugated SCR catalysts.
DeNOx Environment offers a variety of oxidation catalysts for oxidation of CO and VOCs. Useful temperature windows are from 180⁰C and up to around 420⁰C.
Catalytic CO oxidation is rapidly becoming common in many applications in Europe, North America and Asia, and DeNOx Environment has made several successful installations to date.
